We've done it! with Ormskirk defaulting the match to us this week we have gained the two points we needed putting us on 16 points in division three. It's been a great team effort this year from everyone in the A team, the reason we have done so well I feel is that there has been no weak links in the line up, everyone from boards 1-6 has won more games then they have lost.
So our main aim for this season (promotion to division 2) has been achieved! Well done everyone!

I have updated the Division 3 League Table, although Brian Martin hasnt officially sent out this month's update yet, we have had several games in hand that have been completed since then so i have now put up the up to date league tables myself.

A fantastic win against our promotion rivals Widnes has put us top of the WDCL Division 3 and in a great position for promotion (which was our main goal for the year) for full match details click on Padgate A V Widnes B

After a very disturbing period of time where i have been living without broadband, i am pleased to say i have a brand new router, so once again the website will be updated regularly with results etc...

Steven Jones and Chris Chadwick were in action this weekend playing in the English closed championships at yateley manor. which was probably the toughest tourn either of them have played in.
Steven was transfered into the top section which was supposed to be reserved for England Squad players only, he was expected to struggle being by far the lowest rated player out of the 16 and the only "none England Squad" player in the top section. However he played superbly! Beating players rated 133 and 137 on day one. He then went into the final game against a player rated 147 knowing that if he got a draw he would finally achieve the half norm he needs to become a member of the england Junior Squad. Needless to say he did just that! Congratulations Steven finishing on 2.5 points.
Chris Chadwick also did superbly, finishing joint 3rd which given the calibre of opponents he was facing is fantastic. (Chris gained his half norm at Halifax and is already a member of the England Junior Squad.
Finally Martin Brown who plays for us in the Manchester League finished 2nd winning £80.

The Player Stats section of the website has been updated!

We have been drawn to play against George Davisons Grappenhall side in the 2nd round of the Kalmar Shield. The match will be played on the 6th of Febuary and will be played at George's House. Should be an interesting match given that we may well be playing against some of our own junior players who play for Grappenhall in this competition. I guess it will be down to the old guard to bring them down a peg or two!
Apologies for the lack of Table updates for the WDCL, I can only update the table's when I recieve the updated information from the league, unfortunatly I havent recieved any info for a couple of months now, hopefully it is coming soon!

Padgate Juniors Steven Jones and Chris Chadwick have been selected to play for North of England's under 16's side on Sunday. Fantastic news as both have been playing extreamly well this season.

They both performed very well in the matches, Chris scoring a perfect 3/3 and Steven also playing superbly with 2/3 from his 3 games.

George Fortune has also recently been in action for the North of Englands under 12's side, he did not lose a match scoring 3/3. It's fantastic that we have three of the top juniors in the north of England here at Padgate!

Martin Brown who plays for us in the Manchester League, won the Intermidiate section of the Halifix British Rapidplay a fine achievement. Also chris Chadwick finished just out of the prize money but gained the crucial "Half norm" he needed to gain a place in the under 16's England Squad!
George Fortune also qualified for the England under 11's by achieving his half norm Well Done.

Congratulations to Steven Jones who this weekend won the Skelmersdale Junior Rapidplay! This is a continuation of the fantastic form Steven has shown in starting the new season. He beat both of the Walsh twins along the way to a final score of 5/6 which was enough to achieve first place!

Joe Chambers has won this years Summer Tournament, finishing on an impresive 7/8 points, narrowly beating the defending Champion Robert Hughes and Damian McCarthy who both finished on 6/8.
As well as the trophy Joe scooped the £60 first prize, Damian and Robert shared £60 for being joint 2nd, other winners were:

1st Joe Chambers £60 and trophy
2=.Robert Hughes £30 and runners up trophy
2=.Damian McCarthy £30

best under 110 player: Chris Chadwick £20
best under 75 player: James Stephens £20
best Junior: George Fortune: £20 and trophy

As you know as well as the Warrington League we run a team called "warrington" in the Manchester League, however in order to keep this team running we need to have a larger squad of players to choose from.
